Gavin Bond

Gavin Bond is amongst the world’s most celebrated image makers, specifically in portraiture and fashion photography today.  Gavin, a graduate of London's famous St Martin’s School of Art, spent much of the nineties shooting backstage at the world’s biggest runway shows, garnering intimate access to and building a unique rapor with designers and models alike, much of which has served as the inspiration for his unique aesthetic.

Bond's portfolio bursts with spur of the moment, never to be captured again images of some of the world’s most recognized celebrities. Victoria's Secret recently put the artist under contract to cover a reportage project, backstage, at the Victoria's Secret Lingerie Show, known for it’s flamboyant, colorful catwalk event.  The images were subsequently published in GQ to critical acclaim. Bond’s magic is in showing the flip side to the persona viewers have grown used to seeing.

Perhaps it is the way the subject stands, or smiles unawares, or is captured applying lip gloss just moments before hitting the catwalk. Bond enlightens us to celebrity and high fashion worlds with a frankness driven by the speed of his unrestricted lens.
