When photographer Aneta Bartos (http://www.anetabartos.com) told me she was shooting Devon Aoki I was pleased to roll my sleeves up and be the Producer, to work with Devon, one of my favourite Model/Actresses…She has the most unique look, truly fascinating, not to mention she is lovely in person! Combined with Aneta who's sensual and romantic photography just captures me every time, this was a charming project to work on.
With a successful acting career in the bag too, the cover shot we produced for ‘Zoo magazine’ was very strong, and should be out on the shelves very soon, so keep an eye out for it!

Emperors New Clothes sought out a photographer for it's Spring 2009 line and we found one, Morgan Miller (http://www.morganmillerphoto.com). We sat down with Morgan to talk about the shoot, and a special underground photo shoot at the Met.
* What got you started in the Fashion Photography Industry?
I grew up around fashion and art photography my step mother ran the CPW (center for Photography at Woodstock) it was around me all the time I never wanted anything to do with it. It really wasnt until Peter Beard saw some pictures i had taken and convinced me to pursue it that I really got started and that wasnt all that long ago.
* Who are some of your more famous clientele?

Earlier last year whilst I was still in the middle of designing a new collection, I was working into some retro designs, vivid pop colors, such as celebrity microphone, and ‘on air', a 80's influenced grouping of designs, that night I was out for a drink when I bumped into the Retro Kidz, they personally reminded me a little bit of the movie Kid ‘n' play, one of my favorites old school movies!
I have known them from being out and about in New York for a while, but it suddenly struck me, there could not be a better match to represent my new collection than the Retro Kidz?!
They were indeed the best choice I could of made, upon the shoot, after working with many many stylists in my career, none have ever produced the way the Retro Kidz did! They had the best styling and accessories I could not even imagine to bring, from Boombox shaped rings, to the coolest track suits, Hats, pants and sweaters every one being retro originals, mind-blowing stuff, added with THE actual giant ghetto Blaster from Madonna's video, supplied by Gavin Bond, with built in disco lights, the deal was sealed! I can honestly say that was one of the most fun shoots I have worked on!

I cannot claim this entire idea, it was the photographer Morgan Miler who had influenced me on this, I was telling him I wanted to do a real life, playful shoot, and he mentioned he had always wanted to shoot in the Met, the plan was devised, we would shoot it purposely Gorilla style, the idea was to take 2 girls (one being one of my favorite models JP from IMG) and have them run around the museum playing, licking statues toes, pretending to grab the bums of the giant statues, pretending to be dead on the floor, just to have a lot of fun, the pictures I wanted to look like they were taken from the surveillance tapes, ‘caught in the act’.
We managed to achieve just that, the shoot was a lot of fun, and the models were fantastic, it involved a lot of running, sneaky clothes changes right there and then, and fast thinking!
The met worked out to be the best location we could have ever had, where else can you have some of the most famous art pieces in the world to work with? As well as be in different eras or countries in every room!! I considered it to be the most elaborate studio in history.
