Fringes, bobs, pixies and braids

The bob is as popular as ever, think neat, polished and sophisticated like Katie Holmes used to have until recently, she has now been spotted with a very cute pixie cut! Someone else who has chopped off their long locks in favor of a bob, is Hayden Panettiere who looks absolutely stunning with her new do. Another trend we are seeing a lot of, are angelic milkmaid braids, often worn like a halo around the head. Fans of this are Sienna Miller and Nicole Richie. Fringes or 'bangs' are popping up all over celebrity foreheads. A recent celeb to jump on the fringe wagon is Rachel Bilson, and she looks ultra cute with it! Fringes are great for people with slightly larger foreheads and can take off years for a very youthful look.

I tried out a fringe a couple of months ago and absolutely love it, which is strange as most of my prior experience with fringes mainly focused on trying to grow them out! but I think there is a fringe and a style out there that can work with every face type and the great thing about hair is that it grows back. So I say try something new and fun!

It looks like the one-shouldered trend has trickled down into bikinis and monokinis. Marios Schwab has paired the one-shouldered bikini with the ‘cut-away’ bikini trend which is also another huge trend we are seeing this season, and also a great new take on the design of the monokini. Some of the front runners in this trend to look out for are Dsquared2, Agent Provocateur and Miss Bikini Luxe. There are some really fabulous pieces out there that you aren't going to necessarily want to get wet!

-The tubs cost up to £17,000 (um...) and mimic women’s high heels.

-They are built for the user to recline into, with their feet at the toe end of the shoe and their head towards the heel.

An interview with model agent, Gene Kogan

What led you to become a model agent?
It was an accident. I was hired by a friend who started a new division at Next. They needed some temporary assistance and I was unemployed at the time, so my friend asked me if I would be able to help out for a couple of months until they're able to find a permanent replacement. 12 years later, I'm still chugging along.

Name your favourite 3 faces at the moment?
That probably wouldn't go over well. It's like naming your favorite kids. I love them all equally.

A memorable moment of being a model Agent?
Wow, that's a tough one. There are so many to choose from. I guess the most memorable one, not because it was so shocking, probably because it happened very early in my career, was when we got a call from a woman who submitted images of her son for representation. She called us to follow up and see what we thought of him. The agent she was speaking to said that he felt the guy was not right for us. So the mother said: do you think his nose is too big, we can get him a nose job. It was jarring to my system to think that a mother would be so desperate to have her son model that she would offer to get him a mutilated. Perhaps he really did indeed want to model, but it just seemed like the mother was living vicariously through him. This happened my first week at Next and I still think about it to this day. It was also probably the single most influential factor on how I view this business and my place in it.
